Rat Depot was originally born as a free arts and culture newsletter written and edited by Paulie, back in 2023. Since then, we’ve expanded our efforts to putting on fun, interactive film screenings centred around bespoke suites of artwork, from posters to stickers to flyers, leaflets and souvenir tickets. We’ve meddled in different formats, screening hidden gems and cult classics in 4K, 35mm and 3D. We’ve run live Q&As with directors and creators, served film themed dishes with a private chef, given away hundreds of prizes, a dozen unique pieces of art and met hundreds of sexy rats in the process.

 

As we look towards 2027, we’re preparing for a very different depot. After twenty-one events, two markets, collaborations with our friends at Pictureville, FWAMP!, Flatpack Festival, Creative Non-Fiction Film Weekend and the BFI, alongside dozens of letters sent to our readers covering a huge range of topics across all major art forms from six different writers, we’re taking a hiatus for the first half of 2027 to recharge and refocus on new and exciting projects.
